The most difficult question whenever someone goes out with friends or family is what to eat. But the easiest answer is always pizza. Pizza is comfort food for many including myself, because of this obsession with pizza I’ve tried many pizzas in Islamabad. Even though it might seem like a simple task just a dough with tomato paste and cheese, but trust me good pizza is not easy to find. There are hundreds of pizza shops but most of them do not really understand the concept of pizza. Pizza is not something you enjoy when you go out, it gives the same comfort when snuggled in your blanket watching your favourite movie. Pizza really is a treat for any occasion. Judging pizza is not easy but the little experience I have in critiquing pizza’s I’ll use it to tell you all about the top 5 pizzas in Islamabad.
Quatro Uno
They serve delicious Neapolitan style thin crust pizzas in 7 unique flavours. These pizzas are baked to perfection on a woodfire which enhances the flavour. I’ve tried ‘Should’ve put a Ring on it’ which is a pepperoni pizza with fresh basil garnish. The taste was like no other. It is difficult to find authentic thin crust pizza and this just hits the bar. The pizza is so light that 1 person can easily finish it. The part I found the most interesting was the names of these pizzas. They were very catchy. The pizzas range from 1300 to 1800. If you like Italian pizzas then these pizzas are your cup of tea.
Papa Johns
This is a fairly new addition to the pizza market but one of the best. Their pizzas have the best and the softest dough. I have tried a few flavours namely Bbq, Fajita, and Peri Peri. My favourite is peri peri as it has the right balance of spice. They have 3 sizes and a distinguishing feature of creating your own pizza. This gives you the liberty to choose a pizza.You choose the sauce, meat and toppings and make a pizza that is uniquely yours. They have classic and signature flavours providing their customers with a variety to choose from. The size of their pizza always justifies the price which many fail do to so in the market. The price starts from 500 and goes up to 2000. Whenever you plan on giving your colleagues a treat, always consider Papa John's as it can be easy on the pocket as it has deals going on most days.
Fuoco
This restaurant is a fine dining restaurant but serves excellent Italian pizzas. The pizzas are slightly on the expensive side starting from 1400 going up to 1900. Nonetheless, the restaurant masters almost everything it serves. I’ve tried 2 of their Pizza Napoletana; Margherita and Pepperoni and they are just divine. A crunchy crust with the perfect tomato sauce covered with mozzarella cheese just creates the most delectable bite. The woody flavour that comes from the brick oven adds a new dimension to the pizza. If you haven’t tried their pizzas yet then you’re missing out on a lot.
Dominos
Whenever I think of pizza the first thing that pops into my mind is dominos. They are my go-to whenever I’m craving pizzas. They have a wide range of flavours in chicken, beef and creamy categories. Every Wednesday they have a buy 1 get 1 free deal which is a splendid deal. Their personal pan pizza starts from 500 and then medium of 1400 and large is for 1900. They have 4 flavoursome crust options and a special New York style pizza. The pre-eminent feature of their pizzas is the half-and-half option. In this, you can enjoy two pizzas in one by splitting it in half. So, whenever you don’t feel like cooking anything at home just get dominos and enjoy your day.
Burning Giraffe
This last pizza is from a relatively new restaurant. Despite that, the flavour of their pizzas is top-notch. The pizza is loaded with a generous amount of pizza sauce. The pizza sauce has a very unique rich flavour. Each bite you take is a delight and makes you realise how flavourful and fulfilling it really is. They don’t have a large variety of pizzas as it’s not a pizza only restaurant. However, they still have 4 delicious pizzas. Their pizzas undoubtedly elevates your tastebuds. Their cosy ambience combined with freshly baked pizza will definitely uplift your mood any day.
